Just had 2 new back tyres put on and paid 72£ to get car tyres tracked, one its seems like the 2 front wheels are trying to jump forward before the rest of the car, it'd like s jolt, also when turning it seems to squeal the tyres and jolts as well. is it safe to drive
if it was a sierra then yes, but the focus using drop links so no need for the tca's to triangulate the front wheels
The drop links only connect to the anti roll bar and are not responsible for laterally supporting the wheel at all. The wheel is only "guided" by the 2 inner TCA bushes and the droplink of the TCA.
If there's play in the bushes the wheel will move forward in the wheel well (causing toe-in) during acceleration and backwards during braking. (causing excessive toe-out and therefore poor stability)
check the bolts are tight. I thought summit was really wrong with one of my previous cars, just turned out the bolts keeping the wheel on were lose on the front.
what did the previous front tyres look like? bald on one side of the tyre atall?
no the tyres were fine, a new front tyre had been fitted because of the M.O.T so i didnt see it, changed back tyres as they were cracked all over, so i really dont know
