hi there this is my first time on here and i could do with some help please got a 1995 small turbo escort cossie running stage 1 about 300bhp car runs sweet as a nut but when the engine is hot and you rev it up abit when the revs lower it stops at around 1000rpm then suddenly drops to the stage that some times it stalls then the revs pick back up and idels fine soon as you rev it same again revs drop ????

 

I think you need to reset the base idle mate.

This is the screw located under the iscv.



There is a procedure to adjust this though so have a look at the search function at the top as there is a step by step guide somewhere on here.

 

hi thanks for reply yeah i have had a play with this and it did help but it still the same but was not likely to cut out but i didnt no there was a procedure will try again this afternoon and see if i have any luck and will let you no cheers

 

did set the base idle but still no better when revs fall and get under 1200 rpm it then drops to around 400 rpm then rasises again to idle at abit 900rpm

 

wright still having problems i have so far put genuine denso plugs new tps new coolant temp new crank sensor cleaned ever plug on the car and everthing seems ok but revs still drop when returning to idle and when driving its very harsh when you i let of the throttle jerks you forward if booting it pulls strong threw the rev wrange help me please would like it right before ford fair as having a go on the track
