anyone done this and can offer me any info on it please?
im currently working on ballancing out my mk4 escort coz its stripped out.
i brought some jump leads and tried to start the car from the jump leads with the battery in the boot but it wouldnt start it.
it starts with the battery under the bonnet ok so there is a power loss issue.
is it because the jump leads dont offer a good enough contact??
any ideas or info on this subject would be great

You need a much thicker live cable when fitting the battery in the boot due to voltage drop over the long cable.
I used a live cable from BMW M3 E36 when I did my Golf as they have their battery in the boot and use same terminals on the battery.. Earth cable I used a short cable from battery to boot floor.
