Mondeo 6000CD Stereo Displays Phone

Just bought my Mondeo I have no book for the audio equipment but the stereo is showing "Phone" on the display and won't do anything.

I've pressed all the buttons with no luck, does anyone know what I can do?

could well have been hooked up to a car hands free kit, simply look on the back of the stereo for any unwanted wires

There is is a pin usually that when ground out mutes the stereo.
Sounds like it's been ground out somehow?

Some kind of hands free kit, ripped it all out and stereo's working fine now.
