TDCI Crank pulley

If purchasing from a breaker ,how can you tell if a pulley is servicable,is there obvious play or rubber perrishing ?
Would be glad of anyones thoughts on this,I know the best thing is to buy a new one.

would want to see it still fitted and try to twist or flex it before i bought it
