Default Focus rs bottom end rebuild.

Hello. I'm got big ends knocking on my focus rs mk1 I'm thinking off going though a bottom end rebuild on it but I'm being told by a friend that the bottom end can't be opened? Is this true and also about the being special torque setting for it is this true??

If I remember right ford don't sell any bottom end bits for these but you can get after market rods pistons and bearings you can open the bottom end it like any other engine.

From ford it comes as a complete short block. However, all parts are available elsewhere.
