hi can anyone help i own m6 escort cab 1.6 zetec when selecting gear it start to rev and stays high only way stop it is turn it off,i have checked pipes all ok change idle valve ,postion sensor and throttle body and even cleaned ox sensor,plus replace temp sensor but still play up plz any help?

Clutch pedal switch? (If applicable), it is only when you go to select gear?

it only happens when select drive it ok in reverse

Oh right, it has to be some sensor on the box then, I don't know much about Auto's, but something relating to it must be telling your idle valve to open.

I had same problem on manual fez of similar vintage. Bit of a bodge but try unplugging road speed sensor maybe?
