Default amp wiring fuse

Where is the best place to put the in line fuse on the power lead from the batt to the amp its 60amp fuse I think its huge and think nearer the batt would be best but it will make my engine bay look un tidy so was wondering if I could put it further down the supply somewhere neat behind the dash where I can access it easy! Would this be a problem I'm sure its fine but I remember someone telling me its not the correct way?????

If you want to make it look as neat as possible then move the battery to the boot

Or tuck it up to the side of the battery.

On the Mondeo I've hidden it behind the battery box
