Default efi to carbs ingnition?

hi my brother has a rs2000 with the 2.3 conversion and we have fitted bike carbs to it. what should we use for the ignition side of things?
i have been told i can use a esc module from a late spec carb escort or fiesta but a couple of people said they dont run very well. what other options are available as i dont really what to be buying an expensive aftermarket ecu for a budget track car. is there any ignition only ecu's available that would fit?
the rs2k runs 1 coil per 2 cylinders and i think this would be a problem. could i use the coilpack from a zetec on the i4 engine?

thanks Billy

The Electronic Spark Control (ESC) is an idea, although I can kind of understand why it woulden't work properly as surely the ignition curves will be mapped for the car it came from?

Can you not use the standard management for the ignition only?
