Default Help with unreliable starter

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with an ureliable starter.

From time to time, my sierra cosworth 89 2wd does not start.

I can hear the clicks coming from the relays but nothing from the starter motor. When this happens, if I leave the car for a while, it may start. Sometimes it starts after a few goes. When it does after this problem, the starter motor seems to cut out so I have to try several times before then engine catches.

Other timkes it starts perfectly.

Any ideas what could be causing this.?

Check out your battery might be a loose connection there and then check all the connections to the motor too! Be carfull! High Voltage!!

loose/fucked connection on the starter solenoid is most likely causing it to click but not actually engage

Thanks for the replies.

One thing I forgot to mention was that a lot of the times when I am driving the car judders. It seems like the egine cuts and goes again.

Maybe its connected. I am guessing this is a bad connection to the battery/earth that causes the bad starting and this ?
