hi all

got a problem thats doin my head in.
ive just put my engine back in car after bottom end work and there is a nasty knocking noise i would say its coming from the top .
ive had the rocker off an there is plenty of oil gettin pumped up an there looks to be no wear on the cam lobes.
im thinkin its a lifter problem but have never heard any as loud as this
have any of you had a problem like this????
any help would be greatly appreciated

check your timing!! could be valves geting close aquantences with pistons,

it ticks over smooth do you think it will of damaged valves??

 

Have you timed the cams up to the GROOVE in the bottom pulley by any chance?

 

thats what i was thinking , having just done the same thing but before i wound it all round i double tripple checked everything and bugger me the crank had moved to the groove whilst putting the new belt on
