Drivers door on 4x4 Sapphire Cos wont open from inside or outside. Suspect something inside the catch mechanism has broken - perhaps a spring. Unfortunately to get door panel off to get to latch you need to open the door. have pulled outside window seal out and shone torch in - can see both inside and outside levers seem to be operating their respective mechanisms O.K. Locking from inside lever working suggesting cable is connected O.K. Have totally run out of ideas and can't even think who I could take it to that can do anything more than I can - (I am in New Zealand so no use suggesting anyone in particular - just the profession). Any suggestions welcome. thanks David

 

Many years ago I remember we had the same problem, I think when I was younger one of us accidently, partly trapped a coat in the door and it would not open again.

Anyway, my Dad, with one of us holding the handle open, pushed his foot against the inside of the door and it opened. (Basically applied pressure) Protect the door card with some rag first.

Obviously it may not work at all, but got to be worth a try.
