I'm going to replace the idle speed control valve and i was thinking of cleaning the throttle body as my fuel consumption doesnt seem to be great.
I've never cleaned a throttle body as its my first car, should i give it ago? or take it some where to be done?

any tips on how to clean it would be great.

 

What car is it? If it's a cossie then a soft brush and wd40 would do the job in my opinion even though I have not done it myself. I would be careful if it is a cossie though with the fuel and fuel rail when removing everything though. Plus buy a new gasket when putting it back together.
