Default Focus CVT box HELP!!!!!

Hi will try keep this short, but really in need of help/advice. 2006 1.6TDCI auto box is showing two fault codes P0715 - Input Turbine Speed Sensor malfunction and P0701 transmission Control System Range/perf

Local Ford dealer has washed hands of it sayin new box 3-4k etc local autobox garage says there is only a 3 things that can be changed Speed Sensor and Torque converter and one other thing i cannot remember. (He also said why why buy this car with this box!!)

Autobox Specialist says he will collect car trailer away to huddsfield and replace speed sensor which he cannot get from ford but knows a place down south that will supply him and return the car fixed for around £900.

Thing is i priced the part from ford it is available and sensor is £113. ford cannot replace this sensor as they "do not have the tools to do it" WTH?

what to do???

Cheers for any help advice.

probebly outsouced by ford if the gearbox is made by getrag etc etc.

a replacment box might be the standard way they deal with this error
