ok, im buying a rs turbo escort, currently running an 1800 zvh engine, with extensive head work, t3 turbo, 285 cam, forged pistons, etc.

my problem is i need to do a full service on ti str8 away as it has been standing for about 4 to 5 wrks, and didnt get much usage 4 3 months b4 hand.

im a little confused wot spec oil to use though. shud i use a thin 0w40 oil as to suit the zetec bottom end, or a thicker oil to suit the head? im being told that sumthin in a 15w50 fully synthetic wuould b perfect, but im not so sure, sounds a bit thick 2 me.

also, wot spark plugs do people recomend? champion EON's i hear are quite gd and last a while, but im told fords prefer NGK? wots your views?

 

I would use a fully synthetic (pao/ester) 5w-40 as this will have no problems coping with temps in excess of 130degC.
