just bought the car, and the remote doesnt work with radio, had radio out and it appears the middle connector isnt there? been a taxi previously (very tidy n only 129000miles, 10 yrs old)loads of red wires etc spliced into other wires, but still middle connector not there, its a 6000 radio..... also only got 1 key (remote, all working) but want a spare, but the 1 i have is very worn and they cant get a cut off it, how do i go about finding the code please, other than going to ford? there must be a way???!?!?!!!! thanks

 

We had an issue like this on here recently, apparently the headunits are different for remote controls. So it may be the unit has been replaced by one from a non remote car?

Unless you mean the wiring connector is missing all together?

If you want another key then you will need to pair it to your car, you can buy blanks, I think a decent locksmith should be able to cut it for you and you can program it yourself.

there appears to be a wire missing to connect into back of radio, its the small middle connector, if any thing goes in there? i assume its the right radio for the car as its the same that was in a previous 2001 mondeo? with regards the key, the locksmith needs a key code to cut off, as the 1 i have is very very very worn, so unable to take a copy of that! i need to know how to be able to read a code? would it mean diassmbling a lock on the car? would there b numbers on there?
