Default Ford Focus Right Rear parking brake problem

I have a Focus estate 2.0l 2000, it went in for an mot the other day and it failed on the offside parking brake little or no effect 15%, He explained to me it was probably a siezed calliper. I have rmoved the caliper to have a look, i screwed the pot back in and used the hand lever catch to push the pot back out i done this a few times it all seems to be moving allright, everything else on the caliper also moves free.
I put it all back together pumped the brakes a bit and put the handbrake on and pulled forward on gravel the left hand wheel locked up and dragged along the gravel on my drive but the right wheel turned?
What could this be i was thinking maybe stretched cable but there supposed to auto adjust, i thought brake pads but i didnt get any other warnings on the MOT? Should i try and change the caliper?
