Hi i've got a mk5 escort cabriolet that the passenger door won't open it's got a TOAD alarm an central locking.
Can still hear central locking working when activated/deactivated, interior door handle goes in and out when activated/deactivated.
Both external locks have been removed thanks to some DIY theives but was before i got car and door worked fine for first 4 month i got the car.

Have removed both front and back int. side panels with the idea to drill lockin catch or central locking unit out (butchery) but no joy can't get the drill in.

Any suggestions please help!

 

There will be two rods going to the lock. 1 is for locking and unlocking and the other will be for releasing the catch. The rod that locks also goes to the central locking actuator to help you out. It will be a matter of pulling on the rod that releases the catch and the door should release making sure the rod for unlocking is working.

There aren't any rods in the door just a cable running from the int. handle to the central locking unit!

Getting to the point of getting another door so will then chop door in half to get it out! lol Please help!

 

There should be something goin to to the relese i had a similer problem the rod is only very very short, from the central locking unit to the back of the handle and u may well be missing it , just take the door card off and seat out and glass and u can relrese the dor manually i have de locked mk 4 and had same problem or uswred all the mecinisum internally
