Hi all,

I've got a 2003 Focus TDCI which I've owned for about 5 years trouble free. About 6 months ago the Clutch went which I had replaced, however since then I've had an intermittent acceleration problem.

Basically the car will drive fine most of the time but every now and then I'll accelerate and its as if the turbo just isn't there. The car plods through the revs with no power at all. A few minutes later and the car will be fine again?!?!

Any suggestions of what to check would be massively appreciated as my local garage seem to be lost on this due to the fact it can go weeks without an issue.

possibly an egr fault?

try blanking the egr tube and test.

Would I expect a fault code on the car if its the EGR valve?

 

could be air mass flow meter they dont show codes with same probs if it only started after clutch job wirreing might have been pulled
