Default Car heating up too quickly

Hello peeps,

I'm wonderin if you wonderful people can help me out. Its on my own car of a Focus 1.6 2003. The car itself engine wise is std barin from a induction kit and exhaust. Basically whats happenin is the car is just simply heating up too quickly, now I'm literally talkin of a few mins here, 1-3 as a general rule. Now I'm pretty sure its not a faulty gauge as its kickin out a equal amount of temp on the blowers, i.e hot is hot air etc. I know the car is loosin water but I know this is down 2 a slight leak in the bottom rad hose (replaced with silicone ones a lil while ago) & a chrome header tank but I know these have a habit of evaporatin water/anti-freeze anyway so I dont think thats the prob. I do have the car booked in2 a garage 2moro but its just incase they cant ne probs

Thanks Steve

Normal for the 1.6 focus.

My old one would have been in the middle of the gauge in less than a mile.

As long as it doesnt overheat.

As advised if it's not overheating then it would appear the HG is ok, otherwise that would have been suspected.

Tabetha, nah this is true, summin I sorta really hadnt noticed b4 but as I may or may not have said, I've only begin 2 notice it within the last few weeks since fitted sum silicone hoses, I got it checked out 2 play on the side of caution more than nethin else but all seems fine, just gotta remember 2 check the coolant every week as chrome header tank evaporates it like a sod

You'd be surprised, when the gauge reads half, it could be anywhere between 60-100 degrees. You can check engine temperature with one of the functions on the dash test, you will notice the gauge gets to normal a lot quicker than the digital readout does!
