Default Mk4 Escort Brake Bleeding Procedure

Evening all.
What is the correct brake bleeding procedure for Mk4 Escort XR3I non ABS?
The Haynes manual says right hand front, left hand rear, left hand front, right hand rear.
(have no idea if left and right is when sat inside the car of stood outside looking at the bonnet)
Advice I have found on here says to work from furthest away i.e drivers rear, passenger rear, drivers front, passenger front.
Which one is right?
Thanks

General rule of the thumb is to always start furthest away from the master cylinder and work your way in, so offside rear, nearside rear, nearside front, offside front (Assuming your master cylinder is nearest the drivers side).

So why does the Haynes manual give a different procedure?

I seriously haven't found it make any difference to 99% of cars, I always start nearest first, less walking that way, works for me!!

Fair enough.
Are the automatic brake bleed kits that use spare tyre air pressure any good?

The Haynes for my car says to start furthest away and this is always the way I go about it but as said I don't think it's anything major, I personally would follow what the manual tells you to do!

Yes the Eezibleed by Gunson is quite good.

Gunsons eezibleed very very good, vacuum bleeders even better though, you can get a one man bleeder pipe, that has a slit in the end that opens under pressure to let fluid out, but seals shut when pressure stopped to stop air getting in, only a few £ and also really good.

Default MK4 XR3i Brake Bleeding

Probably a stupid question but when re-bleeding the entire system following fiment of new rear wheel cylinders I assume that the handbrake should be off?
Thanks
