does anyone have any ideas why my 1989 s2 turbo will not idle properly. have carried out complete engine rebuild. will fire up and run if the throttle is held open slightly but as soon as you let go it just dies. idle screw under throttle body does not make a difference seems to be running quite rich also any ideas would be great cheers mike

Maybe it's just simply too rich ?, try leaning off with the screw in the fuel dizzy unit, from memory 3mm allen key ?
The ideal mixture can change absolutely totally after a rebuild, my co won't even start on the old engine starting/running perfect mix for example.

hi cheers for the response. have tried leaning of the mixture by turning mixture screw anti clock bit by bit the more i do it the more dificult it is to start. also have noticed that i have no lives to the tps, cold start valve, and a couple of others round the back of the inlet, the only one that has a live is idle control valve which i have replaced. is it possible i have missed somthing when refitting the engine or has something gone tits up any advice is great thanks. also checked lives going to the black fuel ecu with the ignition on, only one live in, is this correct or should there be more cheers mike
