Default zetec ecu and loom......

Well I'm having no luck finding a deep, desk or dewy ecu. So, can I use a 1.8 ecu and loom to run a 2.0??? It's going in my mk4 cabby.
Have seen a few complete looms, with key and transponder for sale but I'm more worried about the ecu will it be ok running the 2l??

There are a couple of fiesta si looms kicking about but do they need the pre pats ecu's or if i have a ecu and key etc will it work like that??

Just trying to get the bits sorted before it all goes together.
Cheers

You cannot run a 1.8l ecu on a 2.0l engine and expect it run properly. If you cannot find a 2.0l ecu you can chip a different ecu that uses the same ecu hardware with the 2.0L code and run that. I've done this, e.g. DEWY code on an 1.8L SEAL ecu in a 2.0L Mondeo. I also did this with an 1.8l ACHE ecu but I cannot remember if that is the same hardware as the other two ecu's.
