Default First Real Problem With my ST170, ALARM

Bit of a strange one, the car will happily sit on the drive alarmed all day long, through the evening and into the night, as soon as it gets to around 3-4 in the morning the alarm goes off, i asume it may be because its damp at these times? any idea what may be causing it, its woke me and my neighbours up on numerous occasions over the past 3 nights, once it starts it then goes off intermittently, only way to stop it is to not lock the car

Bridge out the bonnet switch and see if it goes off.

It's your motor's way of saying "Dad, you know how ya love me there's no traffic on the roads...Let's go for a thrash!"

That's what I think anyway :P

My colleague's focus used to do the same thing, it was the bonnet switch!

I'd say 90% of Ford factory alarm false triggers are from faulty bonnet switches!
