Just got my saff running for the first time since last summer. Started fine, everything running mint.
Problem is this:
When the fan cuts in, it spins up fast for a second or two and then immediately slows down to a very slow pace and the left side indicators and both side lights are lit up constantly. The fans run at this pace constantly. If i turn the engine off, the fans and lights continue for around 1-2 minutes and then all shut off together.
Anybody got any ideas to point me in the right direction. Wiring / electrical problems aren't my forte

Check if they share an earth , if it has gone a little corroded over winter the fans will "search" for an earth and it is finding it through the bulbs and as the bulbs cannot transfer the current that the fan requires and they take some power to light that is why they are glowing . Just my thought late at night

As said above sounds an earth issue, check and make sure the earths are clean, more than likely they are corroded and you then end up with the situation explained above, basically electricity wants to get from positive to negative as quickly as possible and will take the shortest path possible, so the corrosion will add resistance and so it takes another path in this case illuminating your lights, a bad earth will also cause the fans to act as they are.
Also the fan loom was substandard to start with and this is why nearly all of us have rewired, the fuel pump suffers a problem with the old wiring building resistance and so the pump cannot get the power it needs under load, this can lead to an engine meltdown, you can buy the looms pre made or it's not that hard to DIY.

Thanks. Ive cleaned all the earths up and will give it a go tomorrow. the car idles mint, nice and smooth, but on applying the throttle, it splutters and black smoke appears a little too. I think the ignition amplifier shares the same earth, so im hoping this could be th reason for that.
im running AGPR12PP8 plugs and they were gapped at 0.8mm so i have dropped them to 0.6mm which is what people appear to set them at, incase its a plug gapping issue causing the spluttering.
