sierra tacho to zetec loom
I've installed a 1800 zetec (silvertop) and using a deep ecu I now have it running. The only pain is I can't get the rev meter to work. at the moment the green wire from the tach is connected to the green wire from the ecu(pin 4). Is there any over place I could get a signal from like the coil?

Welcome to pf,
The problem may well be/almost certainly is the actual signal, this signal from the zetec ecu will likely need amplifying, I had the same issue when running a much newer emerald K3 ecu on coilpack, so used the ignition amplifier from emerald and it's perfect, about Ł25 from memory, easy to fit.
What part of Norfolk are you from, pm if wanted.

The Loom was from a N or M reg Escort 1.6 I think. The ECU was off E-bay. the joining of the 2 was a months work searching online to get the right pin outs.
Where does the amplifier go and how can I check the ecu's putting out a signal on pin 4 (thats if I've got the right pinout)
I'm in Norwich by the way.

The amp simply goes in line with the signal wire(from the coil), it has it's own live and earth, a very small unit about 1/2 the size of a matchbox.
I'm 20 miles away down the B1108, in Watton, where emerald are, if you need a hand give me a shout.
Emerald is 01953 889110, easy to find, but if any use I'm in the city(nch) at least twice a week so could meet up and bring one to you if wanted ?
