Hi all, i am new to this forum. I have recently purchased an L Reg Escort LX, the facelift model? The 1.6 16v Zetec version. Im the second owner from new, full ford service history etc, its real clean and im well chuffed with it. I have just put some wheels on, 17" Masitaly's and they look great, only thing is it looks like its on stilts. I wish to lower it. I have lowered a few other cars before, and have learnt the lower you go, the more hassle it is. What would be a safe ride height to go for? For the moment im concidering just springs. -40mm? Would -60mm on standard shocks be a pain? Also, what springs would you recommend? Thanks in advance, Graham

60 mm on standard shocks would probably drive like a bag of... I'd only recommend -35 with standard shocks- I've done -60's a couple of times when I should have known better, and its not good!
