Default diff replacement on 2wd sapphire

Hi guys,

I was checking my ford manuals on how to change my diff and it goes on about dropping the rear beam . Do I need to do this to change the diff or is it just a case of unbolting it, dropping it out and putting the new one in? Does anyone have any pointers they can give me

Thx,

Scott.

hi i recently replaced my diff it was farly easy you dont have to take the beam down dont even need to remove the rear wheels as long as the wheels are off the ground and hanging down the drive shafts clear the diff as well so it is a case of just un bolting it, bit more fidley putting one back in though getting the bolts back in not to bad though. pointers a good trolly jack if doing it on the floor to hold the diff & some good leaver bars.

one thing i forgot to say is drop the rear rubber mount on the exhuast back box and plenty of wd40 for the bolts plus some good long punches to drive the big bolts out as mine where corroded in a bit.
