I have a 55 plate focus 1.8 TDCi For the past week my Engine Systems Light has been coming on whilst I'm driving. If i switch engine off and back on, The light goes out. Only to come back on within the next 24 hours??? Car seems fine, no loss of power. I know i need a new battery and back pads, So i dont know if they can be the cause. I have to jump car most days. But i'm gonna pick a battery up tomo. Any ideas?? Cheers.

 

Get the fault codes read WITH the light on.

 

Is the car used for short journeys? Could be the DPF playing up (If equipped)

EGR valve
Air mass meter
and so on...........
Get it connected to a computer to find out whats going on with it.
