Could anyone please help. I have an escort si N reg. The problem is the car keeps holding back whilst in motion as if someone is pullng it from behind. The car also jumps violently back into action when going back into normal running mode.

By letting the clutch up slowly the car dosent jump as much whilst changing up and down gears but it still jumps when i have to slow down or accelerate.

I Know i need a new engine mount which isnt helping and ive also checked the air filter and plugs etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?
