Default mk3 escort indicators jammed on

can anybody help my left hand indicators are jammed on ive removed relay still on, removed indicator stalk still on,if i put hazards on they all stay on an dont flash had to take bulbs out them to get home but green indicator light on dash stays on at all times untill i indicate right then it flashes as it should tried all the earths that i can see bit confused now as the car doesnt have an alarm either so cant be alarm related HELP please thanks in advance kev

When you say left is on all the time, I assume you mean static and not flashing ?
That being the case you have a short, something is touching the wire/s that goes from the indicator stalk to the left indicators, this could be anywhere on the car between front and rear.

yes staying on not flashing its a mk3 se cab ive just converted it to diesel and ive done about 400 miles init since an all was well went on holiday for a week an used it last nie for an hr then it started then it was ok then today they came back on an i had to disconnect battery to get the indicator light out on dash

Your best bet is to take the bulbs out of the indicators on the left side, including the side repeater, then remove ALL fuses, now hook up a test light to the front indicator that you can see as you put the fuses back in, as soon as you put back the fuse feeding the circuit that is feeding a live to the indicator line the test light will light up, note what the fuse is for as this will help narrowing it down.

It is likely that, if you have one fitted, the alarm is the issue - seen this a few times. The relay iin the alarm box can stick causing either side to stay on. Disconnect alarm or give it a tap with the end of a screwdriver or similar when it is diss-armed.
