Default 1999 W reg Focus - slipping clutch ?

I was hoping for a bit of advice concerning my focus .

Its a 1.8 zetec model , w reg ( 1999 ) and i think the clutch is slipping. When i accelerate it races at lowish revs, seemingly with no power , but will then pick up albeit slowly. Does this sound like a slipping clutch ?

If it is slipping , is it terminal for the clutch or is there any adjustments that can be made ?

If it needs replacing , what costs , parts and labour , would i roughly be looking at ?

Its just what i don't need now so any advice will be gratefully recieved .

if say your doing 50mph in 5th, put you foot down and the car doesnt accelerate but the engine revs increase then your clutch is worn out and needs replacing. prob about £350 ish at a garage.

Sounds like a slipping clutch, but shop around a lot as prices vary hugely.

Cheers . that does happen although it seems to occur mainly just after i've changed gear but still when i'm accelerating rather than constant speeds.

Oh well , better start checking out local prices.

Again , thanks for your thoughts
