escort diesel compression
My 98 escort is down on compression. 19 bar and it should be between 28 to 34 bar. Valves or piston rings? Any help would be great-full

Slow when cold, change the heater plugs, new filter housing and new pipes.Air leak in the fuel system would have nothing to do with it being down in compression?

if it winds slow because the starter or battery is cooked then it will be down on compression and sluggish to start.
