Default ECU Swap

Hello there,

I am thinking about buying a chipped ECU from a friend for a MK 5 Fiesta Zetec S but my key will not work with his ECU, am I right in saying?. He is breaking the car so he is able to give me the key aswell. I am just wondering what work has to be done once I have the ECU and key, is it possible to swap the chips in the keys in any way?

Thanks

Yes the key will need to be paired with the ECU for PATS, in the key there should be a blue or similar coloured transponder, if you put this in your key this would work.

Tape his key to the ignition barrel, inside the plastic casing. This will fool the ecu into thinking you are inserting the correct key.

Just don't forget your immobiliser will be permanently disengaged!

How do you open up the key without damaging it? and is this the only part you have swap over? Also I dont have the large remote central locking key its the standard ford key black with the red patch does this make any difference?

Thanks
