st10 seat swap
st170 even..
Hi,
I'm swapping the road seats for some recaros for a hillclimb, and then back again after.
Will this cause any problems with the ecu and/or airbags etc ?
thanks
Simon

It will bring the airbag light on, which will need to be reset by ford dealer/anyone with suitable diagnostic equipment.
You can put a resistor into 2 pins of the airbag wiring so the ecu still thinks the airbags are connected. I have no idea which pins or what resistor you would need though.

IIRC the light usually resets itself when the fault is fixed (ie airbag replaced or a resistor put in its place. I know a 5 amp blade fuse is the usual resistor that most companies supply with steering wheel boss units, but the tensioner plugs would require a different resistor. you could use different fuses to try it till light goes out if you were bothered, alternatively dont worry about the light at all and when you put your std seats back, the light should go out when seat tensioners are plugged in.
