Hi All, I was wondering if anyone can help?

I've a Ford Fiests RS Turbo with a 2.1 ZVH conversion with a T3 turbo fitted. In start up its a little smokey (white) but when i get it on the road and the turbo is on boost it starts to dump what smoke.

I've dropped the exhaust off to see if the Turbo is letting oil down the exhaust but there is none. I checked for play in the turbo and there is none as it has not long been rebuilt.

On returning home my engine is really hot and i can hear the water is bubbling in the header tank slightly and i can smell coolant from the exhaust. I've checked the coolant level to see if i was loosing any but it all appear the same level.

I thought the head gasket had gone but i''ve done a compression test on the cylinder head and it appears fine.

Has anyone any idea what it could be??

 

sounds like head gasket if it was burning oil it would be blue smoke

 

I would guess also the exhaust side of the turbo, problem is a very small amount of oil goes a long way smoke wise, maybe it is being completely burnt off, but as said if it was being burnt in the chamber it would be blue.

Test the coolant for the presence of CO2. Sounds like a head gasket.
