Hi guys,
I don't really want to ask this question, but I need a quick fix!
My other halfs KA Sport SE has it's engine management light on, got it checked today and it's the Lambda sensor that's reporting the problem. We was quoted £130 to fix it! Trouble is tomorrow the car is going to a garage to be traded in! The fault diag has already cost me £35, I don't really want to spend out £130 more!
Is there any way of 'bodging' the lambda sensor so the light does off?? Or is my only option to replace it??

Depends on the exact fault code. If the Oxygen sensor is reporting a mixture failure there's nothing wrong with the sensor and replacing will not cure the problem.
Do you know the number of the code read?

Hi, Thanks for replying, the fault code was read by a diagnostic tool, said sensor 1 bank 1.
I was attempting to remove the sensor, but in the end, just gave up and replaced it! Only cost £56 for a new sensor, Thought the £130 quoted by the garage was a bit much!
Car's been properly fixed now!
On the down side, fog light glass has gone (stone hit it) So that's on order as well! I hate cars! >;o(
