PAT immobiliser system
Hi everyone
I have a escort van 1.8D 1996 model.
The problem I have is when I put the key in turn the ignition on, all lights glowing as normal, turn to crank and nothing. I've checked all the normal things and all ok. but I've noticed the red LED below the clock doen't come on at all, key in or out the light stays off.
Does anyone have any idea's of what it could be, is there a fuse I can check?
Thanks in advance
Hayden

Buy a stop solenoid on ebay and remove pump from engine "not a nice job" and swap it with the ford one.Find a ignition live from fuse box and run it to the solenoid. You'll have to follow the wire back from starter to the main fusebox under steering wheel.Cut the wire and joint it to the ignition switch.Thats the way i did it.There a few fella's on here mite know a better way tho.Best of luck

Stop solenoid will not prevent engine from turning over though, usually enough fuel left in system to start without solenoid being operated and run 1-2 secs, maybe could be connected to alternator IND wire as this goes live when rotating ?, just a thought don't know if it would work.

From: normally dewsbury west yorkshire, but i could wake up anywhere!
iirc when i removed my immobiliser off my van, have a look at the top of the fuse box, theres a yellow relay off to the right, remove this and bridge it onthe 2 opposite pins, L - R.
this should give you cranking at least, then if it doesnt start, replace the stop solenoid. 1 hour half to 2 hours easy

Hey I did that andddd it turned over, but, no start. so if I cange the stop solenoid to a ordinary ford one will I have to bypass anything else to get fuel up and running??
Thanks for your help
