Right need to change the timming belt on my ERST as im doing the water pump so may aswell do it while its off, BUT ive got a brand new timming belt that was for an XR2 that never got used, left in the box in a drawer for bout 4-5 yrs
will this be useless now or will it be ok to use? also assuming an XR2 belt will be ok to use on an ERST

If in doubt, fit new.
For what it costs for a new belt, I would get a new one. How have you managed to fuck the water pump up on a car that you can't drive cos you have no liscence?![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
P.S Timing only has 1 'M'!

Yep would say a new belt, you'll kick yourself if it snaps and costs you ten times what a belt would have cost.
Sell the other belt on ebay, they'll buy anything on there, someone sold a cornflake for £1.29 the other day
