hi all

just finished rebuilding my 1992 rs1800 fiesta engine and put it back in the car. seems to be having a few issues though.

i start the car which fires first time but within 3 seconds it cuts out. this is repeated about 3 times before it starts / nearly cuts out but then manages to keep going. ideling around 1000rpm and seems a bit rough. i have to pull the accelerator cable just slightly to get the throtel body to open every so slightly before it sounds a bit better. from this point it's generally up and down 300 - 500 revs constantly.

i've obviously got something wrong but cant figure it out.

any ideas?

Could well be an air leak.

as above ...... will prob be air leak on the inlet manifold recheck all your vac hoses
