im assuming its already got a 1.6/1.8 flywheel on it as ive been running the car for over 12 months with this engine in but i never originally fitted it i paid a garage to fit it.
its using a ka gearbox which is hydraulic as i will have to change the slave cylinder when i do the clutch.
the rs turbo clutch is a cable clutch not hydraulic so wont fit will it?/ wont work?

escort is cable operated, this wont make a difference. the only thing with regards to changing the clutch youd have to check is if the clutch cover plate is compatible with the release bearing. if using a mk4/5 fiesta diesel clutch (assuming it fits the zetec flywheel) then there should be no issues with the release bearing. I cant find my old application book so cant say for defo if diesel one will fit. you may have to mix and match using a s2 plate with a different cover possibly. i normally use a s2 turbo clutch or mk6 escort 1.6/1.8 which is same.

ok i know of some1 who used a mk4 diesel clutch has he had issues with the standard 1800 zetec clutch catching inside the housing. i know he also used shims with the diesel clutch to be extra safe that it couldnt catch.
if you can defo confirm i could use a s2 clutch with a different plate i would go down that route if it works out with the slave/release bearing

well everytime ive put a 2.0 or 1.8 zetec in an escort or fez ive used the 1.6 zetec escort/fiesta si flywheel, sump/pickup and water pump+pulley. the s2 clutch is the same as a mk6 escort 1.6. if i had to change cover plates due to thrust bearing difference i use the mk5 cover plate. this shouldnt interfere with the housing. il double check my clutch book for you to get a more accurate answer.
