Electric cooling fans do not turn of on Focus 2.0
hi, i purchased a Focus 2001 2.0 ghia about 8 weeks ago.
everything was going well untill a few days ago when i noticed that the cooling fans were staying on constantly.
both fans run at the same time and i have to unplug them everytime i leave the car, and plug them back in when i drive off.
as soon as i plug them in, even without the key in the ignition the fans come on.
there is a brass type fan switch but this zip tied to the side of the battery tray and has been ever since i have had the car.
i went to ford who sold me the wrong fan resistor. the wires on mine are soldered not a plug and had a 2 screw fixing system, so took that back.
so, does this sound like it is a problem with the resistor, the relay, or is there something else that turns the fans on/off.
i have heard about the aircon situation where it has to be off. im very sure mine is turned off.
all comments are much appretiated
