went for a long drive, when im pulling away theres a whooshing sound mid revs and above, sounds like a hairdryer kind of noise,obviously not the turbo sound. still drives ok but very noisey and every so ofter there is a loss of power.... doesnt do it at stand still, only pulling away.

has anyone encountered anything like this before?

im meant to be taking it on holiday next week so any help/advice appreciated

well, im pretty sure its the diff, but never had a problem like it so hard to be sure...... can anyone confirm this ????

its 100 odd miles away from home, would it be dangerous to drive it home ???

also is it right that to change the gearbox on one of these, the engine and subframe have to be dropped out the underneath ???

Pretty much everything on a Mondeo Mk3 at the front you have to drop the subframe

 

sure you havent got a split in a intercooler pipe or induction pipe common on mondeos

 

hmm, kind of an annoying design if ur a retired mechanic with no workshop ramps lol

il have a look as a possibility but its holding boost fine and standing still you cant get it to do it.


was thinking, arent these duel mass flywheels? could that be a possibility??
