On my 89 Saph cossie there is a small plate near the VIN with 'NO MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY' on it.

Can anyone shed any light on why it has this plate, and why the car would be sold without warranty?

heres a piccy of the plate:

AFAIK it means it was a Ford commitment car, i.e. it may have a had a few niggling problems that the dealer was unable to sort out during the car's first few months on the road and thus the customer was provided with a new car.

I'm sure somebody else will confirm if I'm barking up the right / wrong tree !
