We have just bought an 88 xr3i mfi, which we are now having a problem starting. We have traced it to being a fuel problem.

fuel is getting up to the fuel distributer but is coming out of the distibuter slowly and isn't reaching the injectors. we dont think it is the fuel distributer as the fuel is moving slowly as far back as the fuel accumulator.

Is it possible that the fuel accumulator is interuppting the flow of the fuel enough stop it getting to the injectors or could it be that the fuel pump is still pumping fuel yet not providing enough pressure to get it all the way up the system.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we are coming to our wits end trying to work it out.
