Default Central Locking with Ford Focus

Hi
I have ford Focus Zetec 3 doors i am having central locking issue
- Remote lock works fine with driver door lock/unlock (if passanger side door is locked manually.
- If passanger side door is unlocked, i can not lock the car, if i try to lock the car (both manual and remote) its flip back to unlock position.

If i have to lock the car, i need to lock the passanger door with key and then can lock driver side door with remote key.

Any possible solution?

9 times out of 10 this happens when the catch gets sticky. Try giving it a good squirt with wd40 in all the nooks and crannies round the catch, and a good soaking through the key hole too, then work it a few times to get it moving freely. If this doesn't work then it'll probably need a new door lock mechanism, but should be looked at by a mechanic first just to confirm!

Rich170, thanks for your reply, i read on another webiste this might be the cause of 'Two stage unlocking' methods.
To deactivate the two stage unlocking i tried below but did not work.

------------------
With both lock and unlock buttons depressed at the same time, wait until the indicator lights flash once. When complete two stage unlocking will be activated / deactivated accordingly.
-----------------
Any other possible solution?

Just as extra note - I have an st170 with the auto-lock on when you drive off.
In March it locked itself up with the key in the ignition and engine running while it was stood.
I don't know if it's supposed to do this, but don't leave the keys in the ignition !

Thanks Sainly, its quite funny! I will never leave my key inside to protect myself from potential thieves as well as potential self-locking issue.
