Default 4x4 brake problem
If i sit stationery and press hard on the brake pedal, i get the hand brake light and abs light up for a few seconds, is this a common problem

fluid level is ok, did hear a relay clicking like mad from passanger footwell just before it happened though

If the fluid level is low, the ABS relay turns off, and the handbrake and ABS lights will turn on. Definitely sounds like low fluid level to me.

fluid is fine have tried disconnecting the plugs on the fluid bottle and the light comes on straight away, unlike my problem where it only comes on when i push the peddle down

just to add as soon as i press the brake peddle the pump kicks in for a couple of second and when it switches off the lights go off
