Hi all, new on this. Bought a mk1 focus rs a few weeks ago and everythings great apart from having an issue trying to remove the headunit to put my sony ipod one in from my last focus (so already have the fascia and wiring kit etc) I have the proper pins to take it out and have already used them on my last focus but it wont seem to budge on this. Anyone got any ideas? perhaps its a security feature of some sort but just thought i'd ask on here before removing the battery and potentially needing the code if it doesnt come out etc. Any help is much appreciated, thanks

Don't know these cars but at a guess I can't see why the 'U' radio tool would not remove it as this is a universal tool. As soon as you disconnect the battery you will need the radio code, which should be in the handbook, if not I can get for you if you do get the OE one removed and post the S/N.

The only thing id try is making sure youve pushed the pins in all the way to disingauge the locking tabs and give it a wiggle

thanks for the replies, have tried pushing them in and 3 corners seem to be coming out fine but its the bottom right that seems to be stopping it. Found the keycode in the handbook anyway last night so im sorted with that cheers. will try the battery if not then either standard headunit or take the dash apart which i'd rather not do tbh.
