Focus Rs mk 1 Conrods. Where can i buy them???
I am looking for a set of standard Focus Rs conrods. - With 22 mm guide-pinhole for the pistons. This is for my Escort Rs Turbo Zvh project.
I have already purchased a set of brand new Focus Rs pistons. But i bought them unknowing that the guide pin is 3 mm bigger on the Focus Rs pistons than on the standard Zetec rods...
Therefore i need a set of Focus Rs conrods.
Where can i buy a set of standard rods? Used with low milage or brand new ...
I dont need ugraded rods. I wont get over 300 bhp anyways
Hope you can help me out? ...
Best Regards - Kasper Norup Andersen - Denmark

Theres are company on egay where they sell eagle rods i think (im sure these are the ones your are talking about ^^^) However they do two different types, one with larger bolts and one with smaller con rod bolts! You want the ones with larger bolts!

I'm afraid your going to have to hope for Ebay or RSOC....
As your probably aware, the FRS conrods/pistons were unique dimensions only used on that engine.
There are 3 other dimension sets for Zetec-E engines:
1) Silvertop
2) Blacktop
3) American Blacktop
All have different pin/rod length/piston height dimensions.

Didnt know there was a difference in the holes! I thought the only difference between a blacktop and Focus RS lump was basically the forged pistons!
How sure are you? When i was buying my rods, im sure there was no difference in part no's between the two engines. Unless there is no difference if forged rods and forged pistons have a specific size gudgeon pin!

100%
Rod Pin
Silvertop 136.14mm 20.64mm
Blacktop 140.84mm 19.00mm
FRS 137.00mm 22.00mm
USA 139.19mm 20.00mm
The BE to piston crown is the same for each set.
I'm not sure what dimensions the Cosworth 'WRC' rods and pistons were made to, but as they are virtually impossible to find....
Steel rods from America (Eagle, Crower) are to the US dimensions, but supplies from stock (and pistons) are reducing, after all the engine is obsolete.
