I need to upgrade my type 9 gearbox to a mt75 in my 2wd xr4i ( fitted with a Cosworth 2.9 24v BOA engine). Does anyone know if i will need a different bellhousing? or will the mt75 fit straight in place of the type 9?........

 

the mt75 box will need to be from a v6 for it to fit..

 

as said above, it has to be from a v6, or get hold of a frog eye granada td box and a v6 xr4x4 box, swap the front end over, not a had job, see the how to in classic ford this month or pm me for more info.

Just done this myself in my 24v xr4i with a td rear section and v6 4x4 front.pretty easy as shown in classic ford.any ideas what prop to use as the v6 tailend is longer than the td?

 

when i converted my granada cosworth from auto to manual i just used a 2.0l sierra prop and had no probs.
